1. Could you help me find addresses of potential importers/ potential agents?
Yes. The Consulate General aims to provide each company with a list of addresses upon request. Due to the many importers and agents, it is not possible however to do a screening of these organizations, in order to assess their suitability. The Consulate General will gladly assist in finding a consultancy organization, which might be helpful in doing these screenings.

2. Could you help me find addresses of local authorities?
Yes. The Consulate General will provide each company with a list of the relevant governmental organizations, contact details, and sometimes contact person. Depending on the type of request, the Consulate General might send a request to the authorities on behalf of the company.

3. Could you help me find addresses of suppliers of a certain domestic product?
Yes. The Consulate General will provide each company with a list of addresses. Since the number of suppliers of certain products usually runs in the hundreds if not thousands, a detailed description of the product is necessary.

4. Could you help me do a market scan of a certain sector/ product? 
No. The Consulate General is limited to giving first line information (address lists, readily available material etc.). Market scans and market research is the field of consultancy organizations. We will gladly provide you with information on consultancy organizations in our area. The Consulate General does however select sectors or themes on which studies will be carried out. These studies will be made available on this website.

5. Do you have information on trade-related regulations/ laws (customs regulations, procedures for establishing new business...)?
Yes. The Consulate General collects information on a continuous basis on different regulations in different sectors, as well as preferential tax exemptions etc. Due to the many different incentives in different areas, we would like to receive as detailed information as possible in order to better provide you with information. 6. Could you give assistance in solving trade-related disputes with local authorities/ companies?
Yes, the Consulate General can provide assistance in the following ways:
- contacting the related authorities to discuss the problem
- visiting the related companies or governmental organizations to see whether there are possibilities to resolve the dispute
- assistance to your organization when visiting China

7. Could you give assistance in supporting/ pushing projects, especially when local authorities are playing an important role?
The Consulate General aims to support projects indeed. In order to be effective and efficient, the right timing for contacting the local Chinese authorities is very important. A so-called "road show" is held a number of times a year, to provide Dutch organizations in a certain area/ field of business to jointly present themselves to the various local authorities. This combined effort creates an excellent opportunity to get first hand information from the local authorities on all aspects of a certain sector. Usually, a one or two day meeting in a specific sector will be held, in which all parties engage in presentations, conversations and exchanges.

8. Could you give assistance in obtaining the approval for setting up new businesses (JV, branch office, rep. office, WFE etc.) from local authorities?
The Consulate General can provide you with updated information on the regulations, timeframe and cost concerning setting up a representation in South China. Obtaining approval for setting up is up to the relevant authorities however. The Consulate General cannot play a part in this. 

9. Could you give assistance in matchmaking (business to business talks, logistics for the first visit)?
The Consulate General usually assists in matchmaking during incoming delegations. To give this kind of assistance to individual companies can for logistical reasons only be done on a limited basis. 

10. Is there a platform of information/ network sharing (especially for Dutch businesses in or intending to come to the area covered by the Consulate General, in the forms like trade dinners, receptions, web-site information etc.)?
The website of the Consulate General provides information on various aspects of the business-, cultural-, legal and other environment. This information is the combined effort of information sharing between the various governmental and business organizations in the Netherlands and China. 

Trade dinners and receptions are only held in the case of incoming delegations, to provide an opportunity to meet with various counterparts and other people to exchange views.

11. Could you provide us a list of Dutch businesses in South China?
The list of Dutch companies is for internal use, i.e. to inform companies on news matters, elections, notices, etc.?

Some companies have indicated they would prefer we do not hand out their information. Currently, a shortlist is being prepared stating those companies who would like their company information in public. In come cases, the Consulate General can act as an intermediary.
