Introduction
Welcome to the website of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Guangzhou. On this web site you will find information on the organization and working environment of the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Guangzhou. You will also find information about the provinces in our jurisdiction: Guangdong, Fujian, Hainan and the autonomous region Guangxi Zhuang.
The main tasks of this Consulate General are: - Promotion of trade and investment between the Netherlands and southern China
- Offering visa and legalization services
- Providing consular assistance
- Additional tasks in the fields of culture and education.
Mission Statement
The Consulate General in Guangzhou aims to enhance the relations between Netherlands' and Chinese citizens and organizations, focused on trade & investment promotion and visa & consular services.

Consul General Name: Robert J.H. de Leeuw
Date of birth: 31 January 1954
Place of birth: The Hague |  |
Mr. Robert J.H. de Leeuw started his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1974. He occupied various posts at the Ministry in The Hague and diplomatic missions abroad. Mr. De Leeuw was appointed Director of the real estate abroad department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague on August 1, 1996.
As of August 31, 2001 he took up his position as Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Chicago and completed his term in the U.S.A. on August 5, 2005. Mr. De Leeuw arrived in Guangzhou on September 14, 2005, where he assumed his new position as Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Mr. De Leeuw was born in The Hague, the Netherlands on January 31, 1954. He is married to Mrs. Trudi Kooijman. They have two sons, René and Michel.
